For aspiring teachers, there is an important date in September. The Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET 2021) will be held on September 26, 2021. REET is an exam organized by the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (BSER), to identify future teachers for classes 1 to 5 (Level 1 Primary Teacher) and 6 to 8 (Level 2 Upper Primary Teachers).

These topics are divided between Level-1 and Level-2. The Level-1 REET exam covers Child Development & Pedagogy, Mathematics, Language-1, Language-2, and Environmental Studies. The Level-2 REET exam additionally includes Science and Social Science.
The REET exam consists of 150 questions in each of the papers of Level-1 and Level-2. Candidates have a total of 150 minutes to solve each paper, which means that you must solve each question in under 1 minute to attempt all questions. There is no negative marking for this exam, so applicants can answer every question.
To promote quality teaching, there is no age limit for appearing in the REET exam. Candidates must score 60% and above to be eligible for certification. Every result is valid for over seven years after the exam.
Candidates should have graduated from a UGC-recognized institute. Here are the detailed educational qualifications for the REET exam:
- To become a primary teacher:
- The candidate must have passed Senior Secondary or Equivalent with equal to or more than 50% marks.
- The candidate must appear or have passed in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or appear in the last year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Graduation with appearing for or a passed certificate of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- To become an upper primary teacher.
- The candidate must have graduated with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appeared in a 1-year B.Ed (Special Education).
- Or graduation and passing or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Or graduation with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).
- Or graduation with at least 45% marks and passing or appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) as per the NCTE regulations.
The REET exam question paper is available in English and Hindi languages. After clearing the REET exam and with the eligibility certificate as proof, candidates can apply to teacher vacancies.
