Paper I is for those candidates interested in teaching primary classes, while Paper II is for those who are interested in teaching upper primary classes.

KARTET Application Procedure
Although the mode of the exam is offline, the application takes place only in the online mode. The application fee for general candidates is INR 1000, for SC/ST/PWD candidates is INR 400, and for OBC candidates is INR 500.
Admit cards are received by those candidates who have correctly completed the application procedure. Candidates need to download the admit cards and appear at their designated exam centers on the day of the exam to give the exam. The exam center for each candidate is mentioned in their admit cards. Without admit cards, no candidate will be allowed to sit for the exam.
KARTET Exam pattern
The details of the KARTET exam pattern is given below:
- The total marks of the exam are 150, and the total duration is 90 minutes.
- The exam is conducted in offline mode.
- The exam comprises two papers, Paper I and Paper II, for the respective classes.
- Both the papers of KARTET are conducted in both English and Kannada languages.
- Both papers I and II comprise multiple-choice questions (MCQ), each having four options.
- For each correct answer, the candidate is awarded 1 mark, while no negative marks are given for incorrect answers.
