REET Job Prospects
A REET certificate is awarded to candidates having teaching potential. They are hired as Grade 3 teachers across various schools affiliated with Rajasthan Board. Scope of REET expands to the following positions if you successfully pass both written and interview exams:
- Level 1 Teacher for teaching various subjects in classes 1 to 5.
- Level 2 Teacher for teaching various subjects in classes 6 to 8.
You may have the following duties as a grade 3 teacher:
- Prepare curriculum-based lessons and teach them to students within a specified time frame.
- Assist students in understanding basic foundation concepts and nurture those who score less in exams.
- Resolve all concerns, doubts, and queries of students.

Pay Structure For REET Qualified Teachers
Salaries of REET Grade 3 teachers are decided according to the 10th Pay Commission in the pay matrix. Final details will be soon released by Rajasthan Board under REET News 2021. Nevertheless, the expected monthly pay as per previous year data is:
- Overall salary including base pay and grade pay: 37,800 INR
- Grade Pay: 3600 INR
However, after clearing the written exam and interview round, candidates are hired as probationary teachers for 2 years. During this period, they get a monthly salary of 23,700 INR. Based on the performance, they are confirmed as permanent teachers and their pay scale gets upgraded to 37,800 INR per month.
Above mentioned pay structure is the total salary that you will be getting as a Grade 3 teacher. Some amount might be deducted from it as PF, TDS, etc. Hence the in-hand salary could be less than the above-mentioned amount.

Career Scope Of REET

- Grade Pay: 4200 INR
- During Probation: 26,500 INR
Monthly Salary Structure For Grade 1 Teachers:
- Overall salary including base pay and grade pay: 44,300 INR
- Grade Pay: 4800 INR
- During Probation: 31,100 INR

Eligibility For REET Certificate
Candidates must be 18 years of age or older to apply for this certificate. Other than that they should meet the following eligibility criteria to benefit from the lucrative scope of REET:
For Level 1 – The following are required:
- 12th pass with minimum 50% marks.
- Passed or appearing in the last semester of a 2-year elementary education/special education diploma or 4-year bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
For Level 2 – One of the following is required:
- Graduation with minimum 50% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed degree.
- 12th with minimum 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final semester of 4-year bachelor’s degree elementary education.
Candidates will be eligible to apply for a REET certificate if they satisfy the above criteria. However, they must also pass the written exam and interview round to qualify for a teaching position. The minimum cutoff score for the written exam changes every year and depends upon factors like the number of appearing candidates, availability of seats, etc.

- OBC: 71.33%
- SC: 67.33%
- ST: 64.66%
