 BA Journalism is Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. BA Journalism is an undergraduate degree in the field of journalism. Students pursuing this degree learn about the basics of journalism. It is a 3-year course available in various universities. The program teaches students the basics of print media, electronic media, and a wide range of communication domains. The BA Journalism course aims to equip students with the required skills to adapt to the opportunities and challenges of an evolving global media society. The course helps students interested in the media industry to identify, evaluate, analyze, interpret and apply theoretically media knowledge to address problems and decisions associated with the media and communication industry. After completion of this degree, students can opt for a master’s degree or work in the field to gain experience. The field of journalism puts out a variety of opportunities for students pursuing it starting from writing to broadcasting, the internet to the radio, and more. The BA Journalism is a course that is the foundation of the subject, it gives an insight into the media industry and prepares students to take various roles in the section. Students in this course are taught about various aspects of the media industry like research, reporting, compiling, writing, editing, magazine work, cinematography, photography, advertising and marketing, and many more. Journalism is a subject having a plethora of sub-divisions in it and a bachelor’s degree in the subject gives the basics of all the sub-division. Some of the modules that is included in the course are History of Communication Media, Indian State and Democratic Polity, Communication and Mass Communication: Concept and Process, Introduction to Journalism, Development Communication and Rural Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies, Broadcast Journalism, IT and Online Journalism, Media Ethics, Reporting for media, etc.
