An overview of Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board

ASRB (Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board) was conceptualized based on the approval granted by the Cabinet on 1 November 1973 as an autonomous recruitment agency. It was the Gajendragadkar Committee that played a pivotal role in bringing ASRB to existence. ASRB has been delinked from ICAR, and it is now associated with the DARE (Department of Agricultural Research & Education) under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare (Government of India).

The revamped Boards is now capable of having their own Cadre of staff at the administrative level in the secretariat while having independent administrative control on this Cadre. Moreover, a separate head in the budget category has been created in DARE for ASRB.
