STD : 10 ICT, Chapter 1: The World of Designing, 1. Comparing png and svg file,  PNG pictures lose their clarity when zoomed in.,  Clarity of SVG pictures is not affected when is zoomed in., 2. Raster and Vector files,  Raster images are formed by many colorful tiny squares called pixels. The color and size of, each picture is mentioned in the program. It is also called bitmap images. When zooming, (scaling) these images, new pixels are formed based on the properties of neighboring pixels., Examples for raster image editing softwares: GIMP, Paint. (While zooming clarity will be, loss).,  But, a vector image is constructed by means of the defining path between the two, points (start point and end point). This path could be part of any geometric shape like a, straight line, square, triangle or a curve. Examples for vector image editing softwares:, Inkscape, LibreOffice Draw, Karbon, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, etc. Of these, Inkscape, and LibreOffice Draw are Free Software packages. (While zooming clarity remains same.), 3. Inkscape (Extension is .svg – Scalable Vector Graphics),  Inkscape is a free graphic editing software.,  It is used for creating and editing mainly svg images.,  It can import bitmap images and edit them.
