The, child in the poem wants to observe and imitate the life led by his/her father., Hence the child requests the father to be more considerate towards his/her, needs., The figure of speech in the poem is 'metaphor', This poem is a dramatic monologue. The poem also reminds us, that all sorts of people and things are needed to make our world beautiful., Highly contrasted things are existed in the world., The figure of speech in the poem is „simile‟. Except for the last two lines, the, whole poem is a long string of similes. The comparisons are made explicit with, the use of 'as‟ throughout the poem., The poem has deep meanings. WHY I LIKE THE, POEM, , The title of the poem is 'Coromandel Flshers.‟, The poem is written by ‟Sarojini Naidu.‟, The rhyme scheme of the stanza is „aabb‟, My favourite lines from the poem are:, 1) “Rise, brothers, rise; the wakening skies pray to the morning light,, 2) The wind lies asleep in the arms of the dawn like, a child that has cried all night., The poem addresses the fishermen, telling that it is dawn and time for them to, wake up and set out in their boats to harvest the wealth of the sea. The speaker, urges the sleeping fishermen to wake up and prepare to ride the stormy waves, of the sea. A life of comfort spent relaxing in the cool shade of trees- is very, attractive. But the speaker believes that a life of hard work is much better., Personification:- “The wind lies asleep in the arms of the dawn like a child, that has cried all night." (Explanation In the above line dawn has been, personified as a mother.), Simile:-The wind is compared to a child., Metaphor:- "Sea is our mother." Sea is compared to mother without using ‟as‟, or 'like', Sarojini Naidu has started the poem with dialogue, starting ”rise brothers rise",, allowing the reader to feel as though they are present on the coromandel coast., The phrase literally refers to the early start of the fishermen, but can be, interpreted as a beckoning call to those who wish the country's freedom., This is such a superb poem. The beauty of nature, the audacity of the fishermen, and everything have been so beautifully described. Each and every line is so, meaningful. I love this poem. WHY I LIKE THE, POEM, , The title of the poem is 'To a Butterfly‟, The poem is written by „William wordsworth‟, 1) The rhyme scheme of the first stanza is „aabbccb‟, 2. The rhyme scheme of the second stanza is „aabbcdccd‟, My favourite lines are“Stay near me- do not take thy flight!, A little longer in sight!", This is a poem which tells how childhood flies away like the butterfly. It tells us, how a person's childhood is very important and how that person must make, well out of it and enjoy every moment of their childhood., The figures of speech in the poem are- 'Inversion., „ E.g.1. A little longer stay in sight, Stay in sight a little longer., Here the poet is addressing or speaking to a butterfly. A beautiful butterfly is, flying before him. And poet is watching it to that butterfly curiously. Success gives happiness and enthusiasm. A person, who wants to be successful should have positive attitude. He or she finds the, best qualities in other people. WHY I LIKE THE, POEM, , The title of the poem is 'Silver.‟, The poem is written by „Walter de la Mare‟ (1873-1956)., The Rhyme scheme of the first stanzas is ‟aabb‟., The Rhyme scheme for the final stanza Is „aabbcc.‟, My favourite lines from the poem are:, “She peers and sees, silver fruit upon silver trees.”, The poet has depicted the moon and moonlight in the night. It makes all the, things silver. Hence, the things look shiny.
