APPRECIATION OF THE POEM, 1. Title - The title is ‘Coromandel Fishers.’, 2. Poet — The poem is written by ‘Sarojini Naidu.’, 3. Rhyme scheme — The rhyme scheme of the stanza is ‘aabb’, , 4. Favourite lines - 1) “Rise, brothers, rise; the wakening skies pray to, the morning light,, 2) The wind lies asleep in the arms of the dawn like, a child that has cried all night., , 5. Theme / Central idea - The poem addresses the fishermen, telling that it is, dawn and time for them to wake up and set out in their boats to harvest the wealth, of the sea. The speaker urges the sleeping fishermen to wake up and prepare to, ride the stormy waves of the sea. A life of comfort spent relaxing in the cool shade, of trees — is very attractive. But the speaker belives that a life of hard work is, much better. The poet urges the fellow fishermen to make their way towards, horizon, for it is on this journey that they will be able to enjoy the beauty and, majesty of the sea., , 6. Figure of speech - Personification, metaphor, simile, , Personification- “The wind lies asleep in the arms of the dawn like a, , child that has cried all night.”, , Explanation — In the above line dawn has been personified as a mother, so the, figure of speech personification is used., , Simile - The wind is compared to a child., , Metaphor — In the expression ; Sea is our mother. Sea is compared to a, mother without using ‘as’ or ‘like’, , 7. Special features — Sarojini Naidu has started the poem with dialogue, starting, “rise brothers rise”, allowing the reader to feel as though they are present on the, coromandel coast. The phrase literally refers to the early start of the fishermen, but, can be interpreted as a beckoning call to those who wish the country’s freedom., , 8. Why I like the poem - This is such a superb poem. The beauty of nature, the, oudacity of the fishermen and everything have been so beautifully described. Each, and every line is so meaningful. | love this poem. It is inspiring.

Appreciation of the poem, , Title — The title of the poem is ‘To a Butterfly.’, Poet — The poem is written by ‘William wordsworth’, , Rhyme scheme - 1) The rhyme scheme of the first stanza is ‘@abbecb’, 2. The rhyme scheme of the second stanza is ‘aabbcdecd, 4. Favourite lines are — My favourite lines are —, , “Stay near me — do not take thy flight! A little longer in sight!, , 5. Theme / Central Idea — This is a poem which tells how childhood flies away like, the butterfly. It tells us how a person’s childhood is very important and how that, person must make well out of it and enjoy every moment of their childhood., , 6. Figures of Speech —, The figures of speech in the poem is — ‘Inversion.’, Eg.- 1. A little longer stay in sight,, Stay in sight a little longer., 2.
