Her friendly and positive nature is apparent when she introduces herself first to the shy Matthew Cuthbert. In her constant chatters her highly imaginative state is shown as he talks about the cherry tree resembling a dwelling with marble halls. The orchard even looks like a bride with a veil to the young girl. She is even described as strange by the station master due to her used of big words. She gives of an air of confidence and positivism during their conversation., Unlike Anne, Mr Cuthbert on the other hand is a shy timid, middle-aged man. He is somehow reserved and withdrawn as during the journey he hardly talks. This is typical of him as he even decides that his sister should be the one to tell Anne the bad news. Even though they are polar opposites Matthew seems to enjoy the little girl’s talkative, friendly nature., 3.Imagine that you are the girl. Don’t forget to use first person., Ans: I was waiting alone in the train station when I was approached by Mr. Cuthbert who took me to his buggy. On our journey I saw an orchard which looked like a bride all in white with a lovely misty veil. I was much in love with the place that I asked him if there was any brook nearby and he replied there was one below the house.We went pass a tunnel of leaves, branches and blossoms. We had driven on top of a hill when I saw a little grey house peering around a white apple orchard on a slope. Then Mr. Cuthbert told me that it was Green Gables. It looked heavenly as a dark church spire rose up against the marigold sky and a little valley underneath it; and in the stainless southwest sky a great crystal white star was shining guiding me the way towards my new home, ___________________________________________________________________________
