Preamble :, English is the secondary language introduced as the compulsory subject at B.A.,, B.com and B. Sc. Part I. The text prescribed for the syllabus is divided into four sections., It includes prose, poetry, grammar and communication skills. The prose and poetry, section aim to strengthen students’ reading as well as comprehension skills and give, them an opportunity to develop literary sensibility and taste. The section on grammar, and vocabulary provides brief, useful guidelines on the form and the function of, language.
