What is the importance of educational aims?, Ans: Educational aim are important for the following reasons:, i. Educational aim is a planned activity which gives directions, to the activity of education., ii. Educational aims help in acting intelligently and it saves, waste of time and effort., iii. 12.State the importance of character building aim of education., Ans: Character development aim of education is a very important aim for, cultivation of human values and development of attitudes and habits.Gandhiji, gave priority to character building and he felt that the purpose of education, is to develop courage, strength and virtue., John Dewey says,”The establishing of character is a comprehensive aim of, school education”., According to Swami Vivekananda,”We want that education by which, character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded, and by which one can stand on one's own feet”., Various Indian commissions on education stressed the importance of, character building as one of the aims of education.The need of building the, character of men and women in India is the need of the hour.Nehru once, spoke of hanging every corrupt person by the first lamp-post., How to impart education for character is a crucial problem for teachers who, must set a stage for such education.They can teach excellence in the best way, through the example of what they themselves are.They can give lessons, through activities like morning assemblies,mass prayers, talks by eminent, persons and by actually living in the situations.The school environment should, be made congenial and effective., 13.What is the importance of democratic aim of education?, Ans: Democrats aim of education implies giving democratic values like respect, for the individuality,free expression, fearless airing of difference of opinions,, collective and co-operative decision making.It aims at the values of respect, for individuality, equality, toleration, cooperative living,faith in change, through persuasion.Education has to inculcate these values., 14.What are the recommendations of the National Policy on Education 1986, on the aims of education?, Ans:The National Policy on Education 1986 regarded education as a unique, investment and recommended the following as the aims of education:, , 4
