Theories, suggested she could have been an Egyptian Royal by birth, or a foreign princess or the, daughter of high government officials. Not much is known about Nefertiti but, between 1353 and 1336 B.C. she ruled Egypt jointly with her husband the king, Akhenaten., Nefertiti was one of the most beautiful and powerful women in ancient Egypt. When, Akhenaten / Ikhnaton introduce the worship of the new Sun God ‘Aton’ Nefertiti, helped him in every way. She also helped king in administering the country. Till 1330, BC Nefertiti ruled Egypt as its Pharaoh. Though not recognised formally, Nefertiti, was the first female Pharaoh Egypt., Most of what is known about her life comes from the Greco-Roman scholar,, particularly Plutarch. Cleopatra a paragon of beauty was able to conquer many, contemporary political personalities of the Roman empire. Initially she ruled Egypt, jointly with her father and with brother and eventually became the sole ruler, the, Queen of Egypt with a view to strengthening her grip over the Egyptian throne., Cleopatra and Antony had behind it the motive of a joint ruler over the Roman, empire. After the death of Antony at the battle of Actium by Octavian’s force,, Cleopatra committed suicide. Cleopatra remained a popular figure in western culture, even today.
