What is VAK? It is an old teaching method that was introduced in the 1920s, but it is still quite effective. VAK is one of those teaching strategies, where the educator divides the learners into three categories: visual, audio, and kinesthetic. The teacher has to first recognize the learning abilities of each student. Some learn by seeing; some learn more effectively by hearing, and some by feeling it. Accordingly, the students would have to be put into the respective category. Considering these three categories, the teacher must present the information differently to ensure all the students can grasp the lesson plan well.

Every learner is different and has a different style of learning. In order to ensure that the teaching-learning process is effective and efficient, it is important to incorporate various teaching methods in the classroom and VAK is one such teaching methodology that is sure to help both teachers and students alike.

If a student is a visual learner, teachers can include videos, charts, tables, and the like to cater to them effectively. If someone is a kinesthetic learner, then the teachers can incorporate hands-on experiments and activities to make sure that they learn effectively. Similarly, if the students learn better with audio, teachers can use podcasts, ask the students to read the text out loud and likewise.
