About TRIPURA TET

Teacher Recruitment Board Tripura organizes the popular state-level Tripura Teachers Eligibility Test (Tripura TET). Paper-I of the Tripura Teachers Eligibility Test will be conducted for persons intending to become teachers for classes I-V, and Paper-II for those intending to become teachers for classes VI-VIII.

Tripura Teachers Eligibility Test is open to candidates who want to get selected for teaching jobs in Tripura. Applicants can apply for the Tripura TET examination online.

TRIPURA TET Application Process

Before moving to Tripura TET eligibility criteria, it is best if you understand the application process of this exam. Following are the steps candidates must take to fill out the T-TET 2021 application form:

  • Please click the ‘Apply Online’ link to submit your paper-I and/or paper-II applications
  • From the drop-down list, choose T-TET eligibility criteria
  • Details of all academic and professional qualifications should be entered
  • For both paper I and II, choose language-II (Bengali or Kokborok)
  • Select a subject for paper-II (if applicable) (Social Studies, Mathematics and Science).

TRIPURA TET Eligibility Criteria

Candidates appearing for paper-I and paper-II must meet different Tripura TET eligibility criteria. See below for details.

Paper-I Eligibility for Tripura TET (for classes 1-5)

For candidates planning to teach classes 1-5, the following educational requirements must be met:

Educational Qualifications for Paper-I of the T-TET

As a condition of eligibility for the Tripura TET examination, candidates must meet any one of the following academic criteria:

  • The qualifying requirements are a Class 12 diploma with a minimum aggregate of 50% and a two-year diploma in elementary education (DElEd) or a one-year diploma in education (D.Ed) up to the academic session 2005-06.
  • Students must pass Class 12 with a minimum grade point average of 45 percent, and they must complete two years of Degree in Education in accordance with the NCTE Regulations, 2002, or one year up to academic year 2005-06.
  • Grade point average of at least 50 percent in class 12 and completion of a four-year BElEd degree.
  • Students completing Class 12 with a minimum of 50% aggregate must possess a two-year Diploma in Special Education.
  • Passed graduation and two years of DElEd or one year of D.Ed by the start of 2005-06 academic year.
  • Graduate with a minimum grade point average of 50% and possess a B.Ed degree.

Eligibility for Paper-II (for classes 6-8) in the Tripura TET 

Applicants planning to teach in the sixth to eighth grades must meet the following educational requirements:

Education Qualifications for Paper-II of the T-TET

Candidates must meet the following requirements in order to be eligible to take the exam:

  • Passed graduation and two years of DElEd or one year of D.Ed by the start of 2005-06 academic year.
  • Graduate with a minimum grade point average of 50% and possess a B.Ed degree.
  • Graduate with a minimum of 45 percent aggregate and hold a B. Ed. degree according to the NCTE regulations.
  • The candidate must pass the 12th grade with a minimum of 50 percent aggregate, and complete the four-year BElEd course in full.
  • Minimum grade point average of 50 percent for Class 12 and bachelor’s degree/master’s degree in education/educational science.
  • Possess a B.Ed in Special Education and a degree in graduation with a minimum of 50 percent aggregate.

TRIPURA TET Exam Pattern

Now, as you know the Tripura TET eligibility, you need to understand the TET exam pattern as well.  

A review of the Exam Pattern will enable applicants to understand the whole structure of the question paper. The exam pattern will specify the type of questions, number of questions, marking scheme, etc. Below is the exam pattern information.

  • The entire question in Paper 1 and Paper 2 is a Multiple Choice Question.
  • The candidates will receive the OMR sheet during the exam.
  • There is only one circle per question for the candidates to mark.
  • The wrong answers will not be penalized.
