LIT Full Form

LIT Full Form is literature. Literature can also be considered part of work but it is also defined even more narrowly when it comes to defining it as an art form –  drama, poetry, and prose fiction In recent years, the definition of the term has expanded to include oral literature as well. It is a method of recording, preserving, and transmitting entertainment and knowledge, and can also have a social, spiritual, political, or psychological role.

Literature in the form of art can also include works in several non-fiction genres, like biography, memoirs, diaries, letters, and essays. From this broader definition, literature can alos include non-fictional books, articles or other printed media on a certain subject.

Etymologically, the term literature is derived from Latin literatura/litteratura which translates to “learning, a writing, grammar,” which originally used to mean “writing formed with letters,” from litera/littera “letter”. Despite this meaning, the term has also been applied to texts that are spoken or sung. Developments in print media have allowed an ever-growing distribution and proliferation of works in the written form, which now ultimately also includes electronic literature.

Literature is classified as per whether it is prose, poetry, or drama, and such works are categorized as per historical periods, or their relation to certain aesthetic features, or genres.
