Kaizen

Kaizen is a Japanese term that refers to continuous improvement. It is based on the idea that small changes in everyday routine or ways of carrying out a procedure can bring out significant changes over time. Kaizen was first introduced in the manufacturing industry where it showed a significant impact. Later, various other industries including healthcare and education started using this concept to bring changes in their way of operation. The concept of kaizen can be applied to schools and other educational institutions. It allows teachers to improve their teaching methodology and helps students grasp the concepts better. Moreover, students will be able to remember the concepts forever. In schools, this concept can be used to improve the quality of education and students’ learning process. 

By applying the concepts of kaizen in education, teachers can replace old and outdated content with a new and improved one. Many schools across the globe have already applied this concept in their classrooms. With the help of this concept or ideology, education quality can be improved manifold. The term kaizen is made of two words that translate to good change or improvement. The term originated in Japan after the end of World War II. However, the concept remained concentrated in different parts of Japan. The term was introduced and popularized in the West by Masaaki Imai through his book, Kaizen: The Key to Japan’s Competitive Success in 1986. This concept is driven by ten principles that tell people to be proactive and let go of assumptions.
