TN TET – Eligibility Criteria

The Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) holds the Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test (TNTET). The candidates who pass the examination are considered to teach at Tamil Nadu’s primary and secondary schools. Paper 1 (grades I–V) and Paper 2 (grades VI–VIII).

The TNTET certificate is granted to all passing candidates, and the exam scores are valid for seven years. The candidates must check whether they are qualified and eligible to apply for TNTET 2021 while filling out the application form. Candidates can apply for TNTET 2021 Paper I, Paper II, or both, depending on their eligibility.

TNTET Age Eligibility:

Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 40 to be considered. Age relaxation will be granted to reserved and special category candidates – SC, ST, and OBC candidates will get 5 years age relaxation in the upper age limit.

TNTET Educational Qualification:

Paper 1:

  • The candidate must have received a minimum of 45 percent on their senior secondary certificate and a 2-year diploma in Elementary Education.
  • The candidate must have completed high school with a minimum of 50 percent and a 2-year elementary education diploma.
  • The candidate must have completed or been in the process of completing a 4-year bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minimum of 50%. (B.Ed.).
  • The candidate must have completed their bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appeared for the final year of their bachelor’s degree (B.Ed).

Paper 2:

  • The candidate must have completed and passed or be in the last year of a two-year elementary education diploma.
  • The candidate must have received a minimum of 50% in their final year of B.Ed. and passed or appeared in the last year of B.Ed.
  • According to NCTE standards, the candidate must graduate with a minimum of 45 percent and pass or appear in the final year of B.Ed.
  • The candidate must have completed or appeared in the final year of a four-year B.El.Ed program with a minimum of 50 percent.
  • The candidate must have completed or appeared in the final year of a 4-year B.A./B.Sc. Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc. Ed. program with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Any candidate who has qualified B.Ed.from a university recognized by NCTE is eligible to appear in TET.

Steps to Fill TN TET Application Form:

  • Visit the official TNTET 2021 website at trb.tn.nic.in.
  • “TNTET 2021 application form” should be selected.
  • Candidates are then required to fill in the registration information.
  • The candidate will then receive a registration ID through SMS or email.
  • Candidates can then log in using their registration ID and begin filling out the application form.
  • The candidate should scan and upload the following papers after correctly filling out all of the information: signature, passport-size photograph, caste certificate (if applicable), age, and experience certificate.
  • Candidates will then pay the appropriate charge depending upon their category via internet banking once they have submitted all of the needed documents.
  • The next step is to recheck the given information to ensure there are no errors before clicking the ‘submit’ button.
