TNTET Educational Qualification:
Paper 1:
The candidates should be passing in 10+2 degree with a Diploma degree in Teacher Education / Diploma in Elementary Education from an authorized Teacher Training Institute / DIET.
The candidates who are in the Final Year of D.El.Ed. are eligible as well for Paper 1, under the condition that they should provide the D.El.Ed. certificate for verification.
Visually impaired candidates are not eligible for Paper 1.
Paper 2:
The candidate must be passing B.A. /B.Sc. /B.Litt. degree in Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History, and Geography as major subjects.

The candidate must have a degree with any one of the equivalent subjects from a recognized University / Institution under 10+2+3 Pattern and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.) from a recognized University.
The candidates with B.Lit. (Tamil) degree should either have a B.Ed., TPT, or D.T.Ed. degree.
The candidates who are in the final year of B.Ed. degree can appear for Paper 2 as well, on a condition to submit B.Ed. certificate for verification.
