What is PUNJAB TET?
The Punjab TET, also known as PSTET, is a critical and mandatory state-level examination conducted once a year by the Punjab School Education Board to qualify candidates for various teaching posts in government schools of Punjab.

The PSTET examination is supervised by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). The aspirants who want to become teachers can apply for the PSTET irrespective of their degree of graduation.
The state government of Punjab organizes this Punjab TET following the rules and guidelines formulated by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
Punjab TET 2021-2022 is divided into three major categories:
- Category I: Based on performance, candidates are recruited for Lower Primary Level (Classes 1–5) Teaching Jobs.
- Category II: To recruit aspirants appointed as upper primary level teachers (Classes 6 to 8).
- Category III: Aspirants clearing this category exam will be appointed as teachers in all schools recognized by the state government of Punjab.
The Punjab TET examination has two main essential papers:
- Paper I for Primary Teachers of Classes I to V
- Paper-II for Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) of Classes VI-VIII
