Central Sector Scholarship


The MHRD’s Department of Higher Education launched the Central Sector Scholarship Scheme for College and University Students, which is a centrally financed merit-based scholarship. The Central Sector Scholarship scheme, which was established to financially assist students from economically disadvantaged families, awards scholarships for teachers to a total of 82,000 graduate and postgraduate students each year.

This award is distributed in an equal proportion to boys and girls, with 41,000 scholarships earmarked for boys and 41,000 reserved for female candidates. The selected students are awarded a yearly stipend of up to INR 20,000 to cover their living expenses while pursuing higher education. It is for College and University Students, which is available to deserving students, intends to give financial assistance to students from low-income families.

The scholarship money assists the candidate in meeting his or her daily expenditures while studying smartly tips to graduate or postgraduate education in general or professional fields. Applicants must be above the 80th percentile of successful students in the relevant stream in the class 12 board exam to be considered for this merit-cum-means scholarship.
