Drop Out

A drop out is a term used to refer to a person who has voluntarily stopped going to an educational institution. The educational institution in question can be a high school, college, university, or other private or public educational institution. The reasons behind dropping out can vary from person to person depending on the situation. It could be because of practical reasons, inability, necessities, or disillusionment with the system.

There are a lot of negative consequences related to dropping out. A drop out is often seen as a failure or someone who is not capable of studying, but more often than not, that is not the case. A lot of people drop out simply because they do not find the subject that they opted for interesting enough to continue their education in it. They could also have been pushed to drop out by the inadequacies of the institution or university they are studying in.

Dropping out actually is the last resort for most students because of the high amount of stigma associated with it. However, if they have no other option, they will have to do it eventually. There is no shame associated with dropping out at any level if you believe that your aptitude does not match the requirements of the course you are studying.
