Department Chair

The Department Chair is the person assigned by the dean to manage a particular academic department. They look at the department as a whole and its relationship with the institute.

The department chair’s primary role is to keep an eye on and manage the working of the assigned department. They need to properly analyze and examine the department’s operations internally and maintain the relationship of the department with the institution on a broader level. They help to maintain the decorum and bring in control.

┬áThe department chair looks after various things like, approving the course, deciding the schedule for a year, checking if the goals are met, etc. One of the department chair’s most important roles is to help the faculty understand the work and maintain a balance. They convey the roles and responsibilities of the teachers. They are responsible for facilitating the mentorship with the staff, both on a formal and informal level. Also, they are required to facilitate the relationship between faculty members and the administration.

They make sure that there is a healthy work environment and everyone can share their opinions. It will make the conversations productive and help in improving work life. Also, it will solve the problem efficiently and bring balance.
