CTET is the abbreviation used for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test. It is the eligibility test that allows aspirants from various streams to go into teaching as a profession. It is a national level entrance exam conducted every year to recruit prospective aspirants to teach children studying in Class 1 to Class 8 in renowned schools and institutions like Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS).
The CTET 2022 Exam is scheduled in two sessions, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Aspirants who want to become teachers for Classes 1 to 5 have to take CTET Paper 1, and aspirants who want to become teachers for Classes 6 to 8 have to take Paper 2. Aspirants who want to mentor Classes 1 to 8 have to take both papers, i.e., Paper 1 and 2.
Application fees for different categories:
- General/ OBC candidate: Rs. 600 for one Paper and Rs. 1000 for both
- SC/ ST candidate: Rs. 300 for one Paper and Rs. 500 for both Papers
