Classroom Community

Classroom community is a space where the students must feel a sense of belonging. It is a safe space and as the name suggests a group wherein the students and teachers co exist. The classroom community can be considered as a place where teachers give extra care to the students. Here the teachers are provided with the opportunity to teach their students responsibility, respect, and approach the problems confidently. 

Classroom community in college ensures holistic learning where every student gets a chance to learn all aspects of their life. This type of learning makes the students balanced in nature.

The first way to build a better classroom community is to introduce the students to the classroom climate and to the rules, regulations, and daily routines. Students usually are attracted to what they see, so teachers need to practice what they preach. Affected domain deals with the psychology of a person. It creates interest in listening to others’ opinions, committing to works, responding, practicing, and organizing. This is important and should be taught in the classroom community. 

The thriving community ends up meeting every day to develop their numerous ideas and get a chance to express them. By arranging these kinds of meetings, students can get out of their comfort zone. 

Empathy is the most important trait among students, which helps them accept and respect others’ opinions. The mentor should make the students maintain respectful interactions among the students. 

The ability to solve the problem confidently would be lifelong learning for students, and it should be practiced in the community.
