PRT Preparation Timetable

PRT is an abbreviation used for Primary Teacher. A Primary Teacher, also known as an Elementary Teacher, educates students at the primary level (from classes 1 to 5). If an individual wishes to become a primary teacher, they must have a diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). D.El.Ed. is a 2-year diploma course with a choice between full-time classroom training and distance learning.

One of the leading institutes providing this course is The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). It offers a two-year Diploma with an advanced curriculum in Elementary Education Programme. Students can get into the D.El.Ed. program through an entrance examination for which a candidate must be a 12th pass or equivalent with a minimum of 50 percent marks in aggregate.

Preparation Tips for PRT:

  • The Pedagogy portion should be given a lot of attention because it accounts for 50% of the weightage in the PRT and TGT exams and 66 percent in the PGT exam.
  • Given that you study for 7-8 hours on a daily basis, you can stick to a regular schedule to finish your preparation well before the upcoming DSSSB exam in 2022.
  • Candidates must practice consistently and take online mock examinations in order to complete all of the questions in a shorter amount of time.
  • Candidates must solve all previous year’s papers relevant to the exam to identify their weaknesses.
  • Candidates who are weak in the GA/GS portion might begin their current affairs preparation by reading the newspaper.
