What is DSSSB PRT?
Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) organizes PRT (Primary Teacher) exams every year to recruit eligible candidates to various primary teaching positions in schools under the departments of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCT of Delhi). Once you qualify for this exam, you can land a primary teacher’s job in any government school in Delhi. Every year the DSSSB offers a lot of vacancies for teaching posts alone. In 2021 alone, there were 6886 vacancies for teaching posts.

DSSSB PRT Exam Eligibility Criteria
To attempt the DSSSB PRT exam, the candidates need to have the following qualifications. These qualification requirements will vary according to the position:
Assistant Teacher (Primary-DOE)
- The contender should have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks. They should also have cleared 2 years of Diploma in elementary education from a recognized institution. OR
- The aspirant should have cleared Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 45% marks in addition to 2 years of Diploma in elementary education as per the NCTE regulation-2002. OR
- The candidate should have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks in addition to clearing 4 years of Bachelor of Elementary education (B.El.Ed). OR
- The candidate must have procured at least 50% marks in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) along with 2 years of Diploma in Education (Special Education) from a recognized institution. OR
- The aspirant should have completed their graduation and cleared 2 years Diploma in elementary education from a recognized university.
- The aspirant must have cleared CTET.
- The aspirant must have opted for Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, or English as a subject at the Secondary Level.
- The maximum age limit is 30 years.
Assistant Teacher (Primary-MCD)
- The contender should have cleared Class 12th with at least 50% Marks from a recognized institution.
- The candidate should have cleared a 2 years Diploma in primary education/ certificate course in DIET/ JBT/ETE/ B.El.Ed from a recognized university.
- The candidate must have opted for Hindi as a subject in Class 10.
- The contender must have cleared CTET.
- Computer Knowledge is preferred and can be a bonus.
- The maximum age limit is 30 years.
DSSSB PRT – Exam Marking Scheme and Highlights
- The DSSSB PRT is a written test.
- The mode of application for DSSSB PRT is online. Download the application form from the official site: https://dsssbonline.nic.in/.
- The test is also conducted in the online mode.
- The duration of DSSSB PRT will be 2 hours.
- 200 multiple-choice questions will be asked in total.
- The exam will be divided into Part A and Part B (100 MCQs each).
- 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer.
- The DSSSB PRT exam follows a negative marking scheme. 0.25 marks will be cut for incorrect answers.
