The preliminary examination syllabus for MPPSC includes:

  • General Studies Paper 1

A 120-minute paper worth 200 marks spanning topics such as the History of Independent India; Indian Polity and Economy; Geography, history, economy and polity of Madhya Pradesh; Information and Communication Technology; etc.

  • General Studies Paper 2

A 120-minute paper worth 200 marks spanning subjects such as comprehension, decision-making, logic and problem-solving, basic numerical, etc.

MAINS

The main examination syllabus for MPPSC includes:

  • General Studies Paper 1

A 180-minute paper worth 300 marks including topics such as Water Management, Community planning etc.

  • General Studies Paper 2

A 180-minute paper worth 300 marks focusing on current legislative bills, girl education etc.

  • General Studies Paper 3

A 180-minute paper worth 300 marks including Statistics, Mensuration, Sustainable development, etc.

  • General Studies Paper 4

A 180-minute paper worth 300 marks including case studies on ethics and integrity.

  • General Hindi

A 180-minute paper worth 200 marks in Class 10 Hindi format.

Hindi Essay

  • A 120-minute paper worth 100 marks for essay writing on a relevant topic.

Each candidate must choose one out of many optional subjects provided by the MPPSC board. The subject is usually chosen based on the candidate’s academic background.

Last but not least is the interview round. The questioning pattern follows any other state-led Public Service Commission exam.
