He put these on and went out riding on his thin old horse, for the adventure., iv. What did Don Quixote take the inn and the serving girls for?, Ans. Don Quixote thought the inn was a castle and the serving girls there were its noble, ladies., v. How did Don Quixote receive the knight hood?, Ans: When the serving girls of the inn laughed at him Don Quixote was unhappy and he, thought they were laughing at him because he had not been made a knight. So he called the, fat inn keeper, bowed and prayed before him to make him a knight which the inn keeper did, the next morning after Don Quixote had washed his armour all night., vi. How was Don Quixote’s library destroyed?, Ans. Don Quixote’s library was destroyed by his niece and housekeeper while he was away., They burnt all his books in his library because they thought the books about the adventures of, old knights had made him mad. vii.How did Sancho Panza become the squire of Don Quixote?, Ans:, , Don Quixote went to his fat neighbor, Sancho Panza who was a simple, honest, , man and persuaded him to leave his wife and promised that he would kill giants and cruel, men and make him governor of an island Sancho Panza was pleased to hear this and agreed, to be Don Quixote squire., viii. Describe the encounter of Don Quixote with the flock of sheep?, Ans: While Don Quixote was riding along a lonely road with his squire they saw a thick, cloud of dust rising from the roadside ahead of them. Don Quixote told his squire that a big, army was marching towards them but Sancho replied that it was not an army but a flock of, sheep. He would not listen and rode as fast as he could and attacked the sheep furiously them., The shepherds begged him not to kill their sheep but he would not listen so they took out, their slings and started hitting him with stones. A stone hit Don Quixote on the face and he, fell down from his horse. The shepherds thought they had killed him and ran away with their, sheep., ix. How did the duke and the duchess play fun with Don Quixote and Sancho Panza?, Ans. When the duke and the duchess realised that Don Quixote and Sancho Panza were great, fools they decided to have some fun with them. They were playing pranks on Don Quixote, and Sancho Panza when they made Sancho the governor of the island of Barataria. They, presented various difficult scenarios in the island and made him deal with them. They even, made some people attacked the island and Sancho vigorously. Thus the duke and the duchess, were having quite a lot of fun at the expense of Sancho’s mental and physical stability., x. Describe Sancho Panzo was as a governor?, Ans: Sancho Panzo was a happy man when he was made the governor of the island of, Barataria by the Duke. He was given a warm welcome by the people of the island and a big, feast was arranged in his honour. He ate and drank a lot and slept very soundly that night. But, the next morning enemies attacked the island and the people of island requested him to arm, himself and lead them into the battle field. However Sancho had never held a lance or a, shield and he did not know how to put on an armour. Somehow they put a few big heavy, shields to his chest and back a lance in his hand and asked him to march. But he fell and was, crying with pain and some men even kicked him. Then a big fat man stood on his stomach,, gave orders to the soldiers and the enemy was driven out of the island by the evening .

Sancho was helped by his servants to his room and on the next morning he was hardly able to, stand up. The he confessed that he was poor villager and could never be the governor of the, island and left for the duck’s castle., xi. Describe the fight of Don Quixote with the knight of the White Moon., Ans: The knight of the White Moon, a friend and neighbour of Don Quixote challenged him, to a fight with the condition that if Don Quixote was defeated in the fight he would returned, to his village and stay there for at least a year. In the fight the knight of the White Moon, attacked Don Quixote furiously and Don Quixote fell from his horse and was badly hurt., Thus being defeated and feeling ashamed he returned to his village., xii. What did Don Quixote write in his will?, Ans: In his will Don Quixote wrote that after his death all his property would go to his niece,, provided she does not nary a man who reads books about the adventures of knights.
