viii. What were the things demanded by the chief?, Ans:- The things demanded by the chief were a big bull, a sack of gold and a, diamond necklace on the next morning., ix. How was the magic ring lost for the first time?, Ans:- One day when they visited the chief’s house, a servant stole the ring. That’s, how the ring got lost for the first time., x. Who went in search of the magic ring?, Ans:- His dog and cat went in search of the magic ring., xi. How did the fish get the magic ring?, Ans:- After finding the ring while returning to their master, the dog took the ring, inside its mouth and as they were crossing a river on a floating log of wood, the dog, saw a fish swimming nearby. Immediately he started barking and the ring fell into the, water. The fish swallowed it and swim away. That’s how the fish got the magic ring., xii. How was the ring restored to the master?, Ans. The dog and the cat were given the task of finding the lost ring and they cannot, come back until they find it. So they went in search of the ring and took the help of a rat, in finding it. The rat found it hidden in the servant’s cupboard and while returning the, dog took the ring inside his mouth. As they were crossing a river on a floating log of, wood, the dog saw a fish so it started barking and the ring fell into the river and the fish, swallowed it. So they took the help of some otters in catching the fish. They split open, the fish and found the ring but again a kite flew away with the ring while it was drying, on a stone. So they caught a lynx and ordered it to find the kite and the ring and finally, the dog and the cat brought the ring back to their master., .xiii. Why did the cat and dog fight?, Ans:- While bringing back the ring to their master the cat and the dog decided that, they will eat only when their master calls and offers them sweets himself. On their, return his master was delighted and overjoyed to see them and his ring. He ordered his, servants to serve them with delicious food however they were waiting for their master’s, call. In the meantime the aroma of the food tempted the dog and he couldn’t resist it any, longer. So he started eating his share as well as the cat’s which make the cat very angry, and thus they began fighting.
