The People Upstairs, "The People Upstairs" describes the frustration, of a person who shares an apartment building, with noisy neighbours. He imagines that they, practise ballet, bowl in their living room and, they conduct tours in their bedroom. He says, their radio is louder than his and they seem to, celebrate everyday as weekend whether it is a, weekend or a weekday. He says that whenever, they take a shower, his ceilings leak. He, imagines that his neighbours supply their, guests with Pogo sticks during parties, and, they themselves use roller skates to go to the, bathroom. He concludes the poem by saying, that he might not feel annoyed with his, neighbours if they lived somewhere other than, right above him., The famous American poet Ogden Nash is, famous for his humorous poems. This is one, example where we get a picture of the poet's, use of exaggeration.
