The origin of Vedic mathematics can be traced back to the Vedas like the Atharva Veda and the Rig Veda. It was later reintroduced in a much more comprehensible way by the great Indian mathematician<\/a> Jagadguru Shri Bharati Krishna Tirthaji between the years 1911 and 1918.  The Atharva Veda and the Rig Veda are where Tirthaji claims to have learned about Vedic mathematics, therefore the name. In his book on Vedic mathematics, he presented his findings and he noted that there are 16 sutras, or equations, and 13 sub sutras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
