UTET: An Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Uttarakhand Teacher Eligibility Test or the UTET is conducted in Uttarakhand to shortlist eligible candidates for the jobs of Lower and Upper Primary school teachers across government-run and private schools in the state. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility Criteria for UTET<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The teacher recruitment body of UTET, the Uttarakhand Board of Secondary Education, has laid down the following specific eligibility criteria<\/a> for all applicants. Anyone who doesn\u2019t fulfill the eligibility criteria but still applies for the test will be disqualified from attempting it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Age<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. The minimum age of a candidate must be 18 years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. No candidate above the age of 38 can apply for the UTET.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Educational qualification<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The educational qualifications for UTET Paper 1 and Paper 2 are different and are mentioned below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Paper 1 (To teach classes 1 to 5)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Any bachelor\u2019s degree with a minimum percentage of 50.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. 12th standard must be passed with a percentage above 45; must undertake two years of training in elementary education. They must also complete a two-year diploma in elementary education as D.Ed or a similar level diploma.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Paper 2 (To teach classes 6 to 8)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Graduation in Education like the B.Ed degree, with a minimum percentage of 45 per as per the guidelines stated by the NTEC.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Graduation in any field with a  percentage above 50, along with an educational diploma like the B.Ed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. SSC or any equivalent with a percentage of passing above 50 and a four-year Bachelor degree such as BA\/ BSc, Ed, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
