TGT Qualification Criteria

Conducted by the DSSSB, the Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT exam) exam for 2021 will be held to recruit qualified and eligible teachers for various school subjects. However, to appear in the exam, students must fulfil the eligibility criteria laid down by the DSSSB. The eligibility criteria of the TGT exam are explained in detail below.

DSSSB TGT Eligibility Criteria 2021: 

  1. TGT Hindi
  • Having a B.A. (Honours) degree in one of the Modern Indian Language (MIL) concerned or B.A. degree with MIL concerned as one of the elective subjects from any authorized university with a minimum of 45% marks with one additional language or one school subject at degree level OR
  • An equivalent degree in Modern Indian Language received from any recognized university with at least 45% marks. OR
  • Sahitya Rattan of Hindi Sahitya Sammelan Prayag, having obtained a minimum of 45% marks with English in Matriculation.
  • Must have a Degree/Diploma in teaching.
  • Must know Hindi.
  • Must be a qualified CTET candidate.

Note: The applicant should have taken up the subject mentioned in the RR for a minimum of 2 years during the Graduation program. The elective subject may also take in the main subject as practised in various College/Universities.

2. TGT Natural Science

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from any recognized institute/university with a minimum of 45% marks, in any two senior secondary subjects of which at least one should have been at the elective level: –

A. English

B. Natural/Physical Science

C. Mathematics

D. Social Science

  • Must possess a Degree/Diploma in Training Education.
  • Working knowledge of Hindi is necessary.
  • Must be a qualified CTET candidate.

Note: Core Subjects for TGT (Natural or Physical Science) shall be Biology, Botany, Physics, Chemistry, and Zoology.

3. TGT Mathematics

  •  Should have a Bachelor’sBachelor’s Degree or equivalent from any recognized institute/university with at least 45% marks, in any two high school subjects of which at least one should have been at the elective level: –

A. English

B. Social Science 

C. Mathematics

D. Natural/Physical Science

  • Should possess a Degree/Diploma in Training Education.
  • Should have good knowledge of Hindi.
  • Must be a qualified CTET candidate.

4. TGT Social Science

  • Should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from any recognized Institute/University with at least 45% marks in aggregate, in any two senior secondary subjects of which at least one should have been at the elective level: –

A. English

B. Social Science 

C. Mathematics

D. Natural/Physical Science

  • Should have a Degree/Diploma in Training Education.
  • Must have a good knowledge of Hindi.
  • Should be a qualified CTET candidate.

5. TGT Bengali

  • Must possess a B.A. (Honours) degree in one of the MIL concerned or B.A. with MIL concerned as one of the additional subjects from any recognized institute/university having a minimum of 45% marks with one elective language or one senior secondary subject at degree level. OR
  • An equivalent degree in MIL concerned from any recognized institute/university with at least 45% marks in aggregate. OR
  • Sahitya Rattan of Hindi Sahitya Sammelan Prayag, having obtained a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate with English in Matriculation.
  • Must have a Degree/Diploma in teaching.
  • Good command of Hindi is essential.
  • Should be a qualified CTET candidate.

Note: The applicant should have taken up the subject concerned as directed by the RR for a minimum of 2 years during the Graduation program. The elective subject may also comprise the main subject as practised in different Universities.

6. TGT English

  • Have a Bachelor’sBachelor’s Degree (Honours/Pass) or equivalent from any recognized Institute/University with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate, in two senior secondary subjects of which at least one should have been at the elective level: –

A. English

B. Social Science 

C. Mathematics

D. Natural/Physical Science

  • Must have a Degree/Diploma in Training Education.
  • Should have a good command of Hindi.
  • Should be a qualified CTET candidate.

7. TGT Urdu

  • Must have a B.A. (Honours) degree in one of the MIL concerned or B.A. with MIL concerned as one of the elective subjects from a recognized university having 45% marks in aggregate with one additional language or one senior secondary subject at degree level. OR
  • An equivalent degree in MIL from a recognized institute/university with at least a 45% aggregate mark. OR
  • Sahitya Rattan of Hindi Sahitya Sammelan Prayag, having obtained at least 45% marks with English in Matriculation.
  • Should have a Degree or Diploma in teaching.
  • Must know Hindi.
  • Should be a qualified CTET candidate.

8. TGT Sanskrit

  • Must possess a B.A. (Honours) degree in one of the MIL concerned or B.A. with MIL concerned as one of the additional subjects from any recognized university of India with a minimum of 45% marks with one additional language or one senior secondary subject at degree level. OR
  • An equivalent degree in MIL from any recognized university of India with at least 45% marks. OR
  • Sahitya Rattan of Hindi Sahitya Sammelan Prayag, having obtained a minimum of 45% marks with English in Matriculation.
  • Must have a degree or diploma in teaching.
  • Should have a good command of English.
  • Should be a qualified CTET candidate.

9. TGT Punjabi

  • Must possess a B.A. (Honours) degree in one of the MIL concerned or B.A. with MIL concerned as one of the additional subjects from any recognized university of India with at least 45% marks in aggregate with one elective language or one school subject at degree level. OR
  • An equivalent degree in MIL from any recognized institute/university with a minimum of 45% aggregate mark. OR
  • Sahitya Rattan of Hindi Sahitya Sammelan Prayag, having obtained a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate with English in Matriculation.
  • Must have a degree or diploma in teaching.
  • Should have a good command of English. 
  • Should be a qualified CTET candidate.
