TRIPURA TET – Syllabus

What is Tripura TET? 

The Tripura TET is the teacher’s eligibility test administered by the Teachers Recruitment Board of Tripura (TRBT). The Tripura TET is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates who apply for teaching positions in Tripura Schools. Like all TET, the Tripura TET consists of two papers:

1) Paper 1 is conducted for the candidates who wish to apply for teaching positions in Class I to Class V.

2) Paper 2 is conducted for the candidates who wish to apply for teaching positions in Class VI to Class VII.

The candidates to pass the Tripura TET are provided with a certificate with a validity of seven years. However, the candidate should note that passing the T-TET does not guarantee a job. 

Tripura TET Syllabus

PART-I: CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND PEDAGOGY-(30 MCQS)

LEARNING AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT 

• Maturation, development & growth: understanding the relationship with learning. 
• The Principles of childhood development  
• The impact of environment and heredity on development: understanding the nurture-nature controversy.
• The child’s socialization process (with special reference to teachers, parents and peers).
• Physical, cognitive, emotional, social, moral, and language development domains up to late childhood.
• Piaget’s, Kohlberg’s, Carol’s, Chomsky’s, Vygotsky’s, and Rogers’ theories on child development (with critical perspectives).
• Child-centred and activity-based education concept.
• Individual differences: attitude, aptitude, interest and intelligence, their measurement. 
• Theories of intelligence: critical viewpoints on the idea of intelligence by Spearman, Guilford, Thurstone, and Gardener. 
• Gender roles, bias, and educational practise, with a focus on child development.
• The child’s mental health: adjustment and behavioural issues during childhood.
• Understanding the diversity of language, caste, gender, community, and religion among youngsters. 
• School-based assessment, ongoing and comprehensive evaluation, views and practices are some of the differences between assessment for learning and assessment of learning.
• Developing relevant questions to assess learners’ readiness for learning and critical thinking in the classroom, as well as assessing learners’ learning outcomes.

(B) CONCEPTS UNDERSTANDING CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATION 

• The concept of exceptional children and special needs children (CWSN).
• Addressing students from a variety of backgrounds, particularly those who are underprivileged or poor.
• Learning disability (LD) is a concept that addresses the requirements of children with learning difficulties.
• Addressing the needs of smart, creative, and differently-abled students (mentally retarded and physically challenged).

PART-II: LANGUAGE-I, ENGLISH-(30 MCQs) 

A. LANGUAGE COMPREHENSION: 

• Two sections, one prose and the other poetry, with comprehension, inference, grammar, and vocabulary questions. (A piece of writing can be literary, scientific, narrative, or discursive.)
• The following items will be used to assess your grammar knowledge:

Candidates can take the TET exam either Bengali or Kokborok, according to the Tripura Teachers’ Recruitment Board.

• Measurement is a set of processes used to solve problems involving length, weight, time, capacity, and standard units, as well as the relationship between them.
