The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) Tamil Nadu conducts the TN TET, which stands for Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test. Applicants looking to pursue a teaching career and become Primary and Upper Primary level teachers in Tamil Nadu must qualify for this test to be considered eligible for the positions.

TN TET comprises two papers: Paper 1 for those who want to teach classes I to V and Paper 2 for those who wish to teach classes VI to VIII. All qualifying applicants in the eligibility test will receive a TN TET certificate with lifelong validity. (Earlier, it was valid for seven years.)

TN TET 2021 Application Fee

To complete their online applications, every candidate needs to pay an application fee. For candidates falling under the general category, the application fee is Rs 500. For individuals of the SC/ST category, the application fee is Rs 250.

Eligibility Criteria For TN TET 2021

Aspirants looking to appear for TN TET must fulfill the eligibility criteria explained below:

Age: Only aspirants between 18 and 40 years of age can apply for the exam. Candidates belonging to the Reserved and Special categories will receive age relaxation.

Educational qualification:

For Paper 1

Must have passed Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks and should be a passed or appearing candidate in the final year examination of the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
Must have qualified Higher Secondary with a minimum of 45% marks and should be a passed or appearing candidate in the final year examination of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
Must have completed Higher Secondary with a minimum of 50% marks and should be a passed or appearing candidate in the final year examination of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), or
Must have completed graduation and should be a passed or appearing candidate in the final year examination of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
Must have completed graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and should be a passed or appearing candidate in the final year examination of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).

2. For Paper 2

Should have finished graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and should be a passed or appearing aspirant in the final year examination of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), or
Should have completed graduation with a minimum of 45% marks and should be a passed or appearing student in the final year examination of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), or
Should have graduated with a minimum of 50% marks and must be a passed or appearing student in the final year examination of B.Ed (Special Education).
