TET Full Form

TET Full-Form- Teacher Eligibility Test. Teaching is a profession that demands commitment and passion. To ensure that the government educational institutions are equipped with qualified faculty who are capable of giving quality education, eligibility tests are put in place. TET is an eligibility test conducted to ensure that the teachers are capable of handling the classroom. TET Full form, as discussed, is Teacher Eligibility Test and it is a selection or eligibility test that is conducted for teachers in various states.

It is held by both the central and state governments to waitlist qualified teachers for schools and universities. TET has two papers, Paper 1 and 2. Those who wish to teach the primary classes (1-5) should clear Paper 1 and those who wish to teach the upper primary classes should clear both the papers.

Eligibility Criteria for TET
Paper I
  • The applicant should have cleared the Senior Secondary examination  (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or should be appearing for the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education
  • The applicant should have cleared the Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or should be appearing for the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • The applicant should have cleared the Senior Secondary examination (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or should be appearing for the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • The applicant should have graduated in any subject with at least 50% marks and have a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree.
  • The applicant should have cleared the Senior Secondary examination  (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or should be appearing for the final year of 2- year Diploma in Education
