REET Website, Information & Notifications

Meta: REET exam is the eligibility criteria in Rajasthan for teaching in government schools in classes I-VIII. Here’s further information on the REET notifications.

REET exam, or Rajasthan Eligibility Examination For Teachers, is the minimum qualification required in Rajasthan to be eligible for the post of teacher in government schools from class I to VIII. The Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (BSER) conducts the REET Exam annually or as per the requirement of teachers. It is an offline OMR-based exam with no negative marking. And there is no prior work experience required to appear for this examination.

The official REET website is https://rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in/reet2021, and all the notifications regarding the same are available here.

REET and RTET

The REET exam was previously called RTET, which stands for Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test. This exam consisted of two steps. But by administering REET, the then government shortened the selection procedure by eliminating the last step of the process.

When RTET was first introduced in 2011, the validity of its score/certificate was for seven years, but with REET, it changed to three years. It means a candidate can apply to all the teaching post vacancies under the Rajasthan Government for three years after qualifying REET.
