Parent Teacher Conference

Parent Teacher Conference

Parent-teacher conference are crucial for the improvement of the academic performance of the students. It is a short meeting or conference between parents and student teachers to discuss the behavior of students at school and find solutions to learning or behavioral problems. Parent teacher conference enhance the information conveyed through report cards by focusing on specific student strengths and weaknesses in individual subjects and by generalizing the level of knowledge about different subjects and competence. In most of the conferences students are not present whose progress is being discussed, although their participation has been shown to increase meeting productivity. Such conferences is often facilitated by teachers, who take a more active role in sharing information, with parents primarily turning to the role of listener. Like most meetings, such conferences can take the form of an in-person meeting where parents and teachers meet face-to-face or an electronic conference that takes place over the phone or through other systems. These conferences typically last between five and fifteen minutes. In the online conference, neither parent nor teacher need to be present at the school or other common location and can participate in the meeting at home or while working or traveling. Teachers tell parents that their students need to improve in certain areas like their behavior, or a particular subject. It is always beneficial for students because they will automatically start concentrating more to improve in the areas they are not good in. They should be done regularly for improvement in the academic performance of students.
