About the Kerala Teachers Eligibility Test
Conducted by Pareeksha Bhavan, Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) is a national-level exam organized twice a year to test the eligibility of candidates having relevant skills to teach in Lower Primary, Upper Primary, and High School classes in the state of Kerala. The exam is conducted per the rules and regulations laid down by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Kerala, along with guidelines put forth by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)/Department of General Education/Government of Kerala.
KTET Cut Off and Passing Marks
In Kerala Teachers Eligibility Test, there are separate papers for each Category: Category 1, Category 2, Category 3, and Category 4, and aspirants need to qualify at least one of them to get the KTET certificate. Each category paper contains a total of 150 questions based on the KTET Syllabus.
Each question carries one mark, and there is no negative marking in the KTET Exam. Suppose you attempted 80 questions out of 150, and from the total answers filled by you in the OMR Sheet, only 80 are correct, then you obtain 80 marks in the KTET exam. However, the candidates need to get the minimum passing marks to qualify in the KTET examination.
The KTET cut-off Marks and the KTET Passing or Qualifying Marks are two different things. The cut-off is set as per the highest marks obtained by candidates of each Category. On the other hand, the KTET Passing or qualifying marks are the minimum qualifying marks that candidates of each Category (GEN/OBC/SC/ST/PH) need to obtain to qualify for the exam.

Here’s How to Check KTET Cut-Off Marks
Students can find the KTET Cut Off Marks on the official website of KTET Kerala. To check the cut-off marks, aspirants need to follow the steps given below:
Step 1: Visit the official website of KTET: https://ktet.kerala.gov.in/index.php
Step 2: Go to the results section of KTET.
Step 3: Find the link for the result and click on it.
Step 4: Upon clicking the link, a new window will open up. Fill in your credentials and press the ‘check results’ button.
Step 5: After that, the candidate will be taken to another page where a pdf will open up. Go down in the pdf, and you will find your KTET Cut-Off.
Step 6: Make sure you download the pdf after checking the cut-off scores for any future references.
Key Factors Affecting KTET Cut Off
All the candidates have to wait for a little more as the KTET cut-off 2021 will soon be released on the official website of the examination. The cut-off will be finalized based on the following factors:
- Total number of available vacancies: If there are many vacancies, there will be a significant drop in the cut-off marks and vice versa.
- Total number of applicants: A large number of candidates applying for the KTET exam will result in a significant increase in the cut-off.
- Highest marks scored from each category: The highest scores obtained by any candidate from a particular category will lead to a surge in the overall KTET cut-off.
- The difficulty level of the exam: The higher the difficulty level of the exam, the lower cut-off will be and vice versa.
How To Pass The KTET Exam?
- Do Not Forget To Revise
Do not leave anything for the last few days! Make sure you only use the last few days before the examination for revision and keep your mind at peace. Dedicate this period to quickly edit the essential topics from all subjects, including Child Development and Pedagogy, Mathematics, Languages, and others.
- Go Through Solved KTET Mock Tests
Go through the KTET mock tests or practice papers you’ve already attempted. This way, you will remember weak and strong areas and not make the same mistakes. If you know your vital areas, you will be sure of which section to go for first and which section should be attempted at the last while giving the actual exam.
- Pay Attention to Time Management
In the KTET Exam, there will be a total number of 150 questions. Candidates need to attempt these 150 MCQs within 2 hours 30 minutes. So, spend your time carefully while attempting the KTET Question Paper. Try not to spend too much time on any question or section.
