E-Literate

E-literate is the literacy of an individual in a digital world. It means how well-versed a person is regarding the use of technology or the digital world. E-literate means the level of understanding and competence of an individual regarding IT (information technology). It includes the skill set needed to effectively use all the available resources like material, tools, etc.

We can see that print media is declining nowadays due to electronic media. E.g., people are switching from reading newspapers to reading news online on a mobile phone or laptop. People are using mobile phones for communication, bill payments, ticket bookings, and many more things. It has simplified the process and made it very cost-effective. Organizations like NIEPA puts in various efforts to improve the quality of education and make people literates.

It means all the skill sets required to navigate or operate in the digital learning environment. Also, this is very dynamic and keeps on changing. So, you need to keep an eye on the changes and current trends and adapt accordingly.

Generation Z or young children are often e-literate at a very young age. It is because they had access to mobile phones and the internet from the very start. E-literacy has a lot of potential in the future and will continue to grow more.
