To align with the CBSE board, the Secondary Education Council of the Uttar Pradesh board has opted to adopt NCERT books since 2018. The textbooks for all classes and disciplines have been replaced, and the curriculum has been modified. The NCERT Curriculum and materials are now used in practically all of the schools connected with the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad. Science, Maths, English, Hindi, and Social Science are the five mandatory subjects in the Board of High School and Intermediate Education Uttar Pradesh (BHSIEUP) Class 10 pariksha.
