JNVST

The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Exam also called JNVST is an exam that is conducted for the admission of grade sixth students to JNV. This test is for all students who live in the country in any of the 28 states and 7 Union Territories. This exam is conducted by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti and aims to select the best students to attend JNV schools in India. Currently, there are 636 Samiti schools in the whole country. Up to 80 students are admitted to class VI in each Vidyalaya through this selection test. The exam takes place at the beginning of the year while the results of JNVST are announced at the end of May of the year of admission. Students can only apply for the exams who belong to the district in which the school is present. Students who do not live in that district can not apply so admission will only be given to those who live in that specific district. Admission applicants must not be born before 2009 and after 2013. This will apply to applicants of all categories, including those of the Listed Caste (SC), Listed Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Caste (OBC). In cases where it is doubted that the wrong age is stated in the certificate, they can be referred to the Health Commission for age confirmation. The decision of the medical committee will be considered final. Applicants who have passed class V in all previous courses are not eligible to take the selection test. Schools, where students have obtained a “B” certificate of the National Institute of Open Education, must be accredited by NIOS. Students must complete class V at session 2021-2022 to apply for JNVST.
