Education Schemes in India are prominent with the development of the National Education Policy 2020. India launched a slew of programs aimed at achieving UEE through a variety of schematic and program initiatives, such as

  • Mid-day Meal
  • Mahila Samakhya

  • Strengthening for Quality Education in Madrassas ( SPQEM)

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) is India’s principal program for universalizing primary education. Its main goals include universal access and retention, closing the gender and socioeconomic class inequities in education, and improving children’s learning levels.

Education Schemes in India for Secondary School Students

Secondary education is the most important stage of school since it prepares students for higher education and the workforce. The current policy is to make high-quality secondary education available, accessible, and cheap to all young people aged 14 to 18. At the moment, the following programs aimed at secondary school students (classes IX to XII) are being implemented as Centrally Sponsored Schemes:

  • Madhyamik Rashtriya Shiksha Abhiyan
  • Girls Hostel Initiative
  • National Scheme of Secondary Education
  • Incentives for Girls
  • Inclusive Secondary Education for Disabled
  • Scheme of Vocational Education
  • National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme
  • Scheme for construction and running of Girls’ Hostel for students of secondary and higher secondary schools
  • Scholarship schemes for Minority students
  • National Scholarships

The National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) encourages both quantitative and qualitative educational development and takes special efforts to eliminate gaps and equalize educational opportunities for all pupils. Through the National Talent Search Scheme, NCERT recognizes and praises students’ educational genius. It also aims to recognize creative eminence by awarding Chacha Nehru Scholarships for artistic and innovative achievement. Through the Bal Shree plan, the National Bal Bhawan established a system of honoring talented children of various ages in 1995.
