BEd Special Education

BEd special education is a stream of Bachelor of Education that has been designed to offer special and advanced skills & training to teachers. It is a bachelor’s degree that has a total of two years in duration. It is divided into four semesters, and at the end of each, there will be an exam.

The course BEd special education has been designed in such a way that it trains the teachers to teach students who are physically challenged or differently-abled. Through the course, the teachers will be given theoretical as well as practical knowledge in terms of teaching pedagogy,  teaching skills methodologies, etc. among other skills. Through this course, the candidates can pursue their education in any of the specializations which include low vision, hearing impairment, locomotor disability, visual impairment, deafblindness, autism, learning disability, spectrum disorder, multiple disabilities, and other differently challenged specializations. 

The minimum eligibility requirement to pursue BEd diploma in special education is passing a graduation degree in Bachelor of Education from a recognized Institute. In addition to a Bachelor’s degree,  the teacher must also have acquired 50% aggregate marks. They must also have passed 12th standard with at least 50% marks in a relevant subject. 

After completing the course, the candidates can either apply for a master’s degree or pursue a career as a special education teacher. The candidates can then get hired to organizations such as government and private schools, NGOs, learning centers, etc.
