Teaching eligibility or teaching eligibility test are similar terms that are popular worldwide. It is an exam conducted at both the national and the state level to determine if the candidate is eligible for a teaching position and has the requisite teaching skills that a candidate must-have for a teacher’s position in the central or state schools. Every year, the exam is conducted in different parts of the country.
TET and CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) are conducted to recruit eligible teachers for the post of primary teachers, graduate teachers, and post-graduate teachers. The teacher eligibility test does not guarantee the recruitment of a candidate in schools. However, teaching jobs are only applicable to eligible and qualified candidates.
A certain cut-off list is also set by the national and state level of the recruitment teacher team. After clearing the teaching eligibility test, an interview process is set up by the school where the candidate has applied. Based on the qualification and the interview, the decision of hiring the candidate is based.
The eligibility criteria for the candidate applying for the teaching eligibility test include that the candidate should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university and the candidate should be minimum 18 years and maximum 35 years of age.
